A Big Thanks to Rhonda Wenum for turning me on to this resource!!
All photos published on Unsplash can be used for free. You can use them for commercial and noncommercial purposes. You do not need to ask permission from or provide credit to the photographer or Unsplash, although it is appreciated when possible.
More precisely, Unsplash grants you an irrevocable, nonexclusive, worldwide copyright license to download, copy, modify, distribute, perform, and use photos from Unsplash for free, including for commercial purposes, without permission from or attributing the photographer or Unsplash. This license does not include the right to compile photos from Unsplash to replicate a similar or competing service.
This site provides a perfect place for students to find images that aren't breaking copyright laws. A discussion should take place of how everything students find on the Internet is usually copyrighted and can't be used for outside or commercial purposes! However, this site is an exception!
Unsplash Photos is a royalty free place to find photos to use in Google Slides. It only works in Google Slides.
- To get the add on, open a Google Slide presentation and click on Add Ons on the top tool bar.
- When you want to use this resource, simply click on Add Ons, click on Unsplash Photos - insert an Unsplash photo

Unsplash photos for other Google files or products
- Create a free login to access your collections in Unsplash photos.
- Once done, find the photos you'd like and add them to a collection. You can choose to keep your collection private or public.
- However, one of the wonderful features of this site is you can create a collection to share with your students! Maybe you don't want them spending a lot of time finding images for a project. Create a collection and share it!
- Simply click the share button, get a link and add this to Google Classroom or your website where students can access these photos for use in a project.

ADDING PHOTOS TO A GOOGLE DOC
- Using Google Keep to store these photos is also a wonderful option. You'll need the extension SAVE TO GOOGLE KEEP and then it's a simple right click on a photo to save it in Keep where you (or your students - if they use this extension) can find these photos they've saved.
