Google Earth and Google Classroom

For the Professional Development Day, Dr. Phil Crossley came and did a presentation on using Google Earth in the Classroom. It was an excellent presentation and he showed teachers how to use the Google Earth web app. You can also download the complete version of Google Earth to your desktop, but students will be using the web app. The download has more features.

Here are Dr. Crossley's instructions on creating these virtual field trips!

He create a couple of files that you can see and import into Google Earth. Those files can be found on the home page of this website or by clicking HERE.

After creating a field trip of your own, you can easily share these field trips with your students by using the Google Classroom link on the Google Earth file you've created.

There is an online web version (which is what you’ll probably use), or you can download the complete Google Earth on your computer for more options.
