Even now, in the middle of the school year, Google Classroom is updating. The changes this time are small, but still some changes to make this product even more useful. Here is the notice you'll get when opening Google Classroom right now:

The first two items are now available. If you are interested in the beta Gradebook, our district will have to fill out a survey for Google to release the beta to us. If you think you might want to use the beta Gradebook, please let me know. Otherwise, after the beta testing takes place, the Gradebook may become a part of Google Classroom. It may be better to wait for the beta testing to happen before beginning to use this feature. I'm sure the best features will be coming soon to Gradebook before too long.

- Drag and Drop topics and classwork items on the Classwork page: This is exactly what it says - you can now easily rearrange your topics and/or classwork items. Click HERE for a VIDEO.
- There are new themes available to decorate your class! Click HERE for VIDEO.
- Easily access the class code from the Stream page. You used to have to find it in settings. Click HERE for VIDEO.
- The other item not listed here is locked mode for Google Form Quizzes. This item is ONLY available on managed Chromebooks and prevents students from leaving the quiz to open another tab in the browser to search for answers to the questions. AGAIN, remember you can only use this with Chromebooks that are managed by our district. This will NOT work on a laptop or iPad. This is a new feature and may not be available right away, but will be coming soon!

On another note (not Google), a bunch of resources were transferred to the public domain on January 1st! Here is a great place to find ALL SORTS of materials to use in your classroom. It's called the Internet Archive and the URL is: https://archive.org/ Check it out! You will probably find many things to use in the classroom!
