The Versatility of Google Slides

I've written about this before, but it's worth repeating!

Google Slides is the most versatile Google product!!!

Let me explain...

Are you a person who loved using Microsoft Publisher to create flyers, posters, or just about anything? Publisher was (is) a great product, but expensive and not everyone has it. That makes it hard to send to others unless you change the format. Also, it's not terribly intuitive to work with.

Google Slides on the other hand is easy to work with, readily available, and can easily be downloaded into many formats. Want to make a flyer? a brochure? a poster? a postcard? or many other items? Use Google Slides! Here's how:

1. Open Google Slides
2. Go to FILE - PAGE SETUP and then select CUSTOM (There are other options, but custom is where to go to create all types of sizes!
3. Once you click CUSTOM, you'll have the option of the size you want to put in. Let's start with a pretty one page flyer so make your size 8.5 for the width and 11 for the height and click OK. REMEMBER - YOU CAN CHANGE THE SIZE TO WHATEVER SIZE SUITS YOUR NEEDS!
4. Get rid of the text boxes already on the page. There are 2 ways to do this;
   1. Click on the text box, now click again on the text box so the words come back and hit backspace.
   2. On the menu at the top, click on SLIDE - APPLY LAYOUT - and choose BLANK.
5. Now, you can add your own text boxes, images, etc. by clicking on INSERT and choosing what you'd like to add.
6. Print your document (slide)!

Coming Soon: Audio is coming for Google Slides. A lot of people have asked how to add audio to Google Slides. I did a session on this in May of 2018. Here is the link. However, sometime after the 20th, we'll be seeing in Slides under the insert menu, a new menu for AUDIO. I'll do a Tech Tuesday after this comes to our G-Suite!
