Plotting Points on a Map from a Form
Students can do reports on different places and you can combine them all of a collaborative map with just a click!
Let's say you want students to do reports on various topics and you want all the locations to be plotted on a map! For example, your students could do reports on composers, scientists, artists, or many other people and plot where they were from or from where they worked. You could also have students plot battles of a war, national parks, river data, and many other things! Here's how to do this:
- Create a form with the data you want on the form. Make sure one question has a location (city, state; or a gps location)
- Once the form has been completed by the students, you can import this into a Google Map (https://www.google.com/mymaps )
- On the box on the map, click IMPORT.
- Choose the spreadsheet attached to your form.
- Now, choose the locations for where the map will get its locations and then the name of what you'd like that label to be called. All the information the students put into the form will be on your new map!!
