More Hierarchy in the New Google Sites

There used to be a limit of one sub-page on a new Google Site! However, as with everything Google, they do LISTEN to their customers and add features often. One of these new features in the hierarchy set up withing Google Sites.

To create hierarchical pages, here are the steps:

  • First, create a Google Site. If you already have a Google Site, you'll still be able to now add more hierarchy to your pages.
  • Create your main page. This will be your HOME page. You may name it anything you want.
  • FROM YOUR MAIN PAGE, click on the 3 dots on the right side of your page in the PAGES MENU.
  • Click CREATE SUB PAGE. Now this page will show up in the navigation UNDER your main page. Now, your main page will have a little arrow next to it with your sub pages under it.
  • You may want to create your 'tab' pages first and then add your sub pages. These 'tab' pages will be your main navigation for your site.
  • To create the 'tab' pages, just click the icon on the bottom of the PAGES MENU with the page and the + sign.
  • As always, you can choose to 'hide' your pages from navigation. If you do this, the pages will not show up in the navigation or a drop-down. You'll have to link a page a different way.

Honestly, Google Sites is SUPER EASY to work with. Please see the SHORT videos below:
