Using Google Chrome as your Browser - Tips and Tricks - Part 1

Download Chrome: www.google.com/chrome (most of you already have Chrome)

Why sign in to Chrome?

Signing in to Chrome allows you access to all of your bookmarks (Favorites), apps, extensions and themes from any device. You can even open the tabs that you have open on another device! Signing in to Chrome allows you to personalize your Chrome experience independent of the device that you are using.

Sign in to Chrome: Click the triple Horizontal Hot Dogs in the corner. Then click “sign in.”

You may want to use Chrome as your default browser. In order to make Chrome your default browser:

1. On your computer, open Chrome.
2. In the top right, click the 3 vertical dots .
3. Click Settings.
4. In the "Default browser" section, click Make Google Chrome the default browser. If you don't see the button, Google Chrome is already your default browser.

Multiple Users - I have one for my personal account and one for school. That way, I can have bookmarks I use for school on my school account, and the bookmarks I need for home on my personal account. Super handy.

If you have or are using a Chromebook, you are basically one user on a Chromebook. Every time you log in on a Chromebook with your account, you will have all your bookmarks for whichever account you sign in with on the machine. In other words, a Chromebook signs you in to your account AND Chrome at the same time.

• New Tab - Means just that. It opens a new tab. You can also use Control - T.
• Reload - If your tab needs to be refreshed, you can hit RELOAD.
• Duplicate - This will create a new tab with the same web page loaded as the one you are currently on.
• Pin Tab - This is a handy feature! Have you ever closed a tab by accident? Well, if you pin a tab, you no longer have the option to close that tab!
• Mute Tab - Another very handy feature! Sometimes, there are annoying ads on a web page or some type of noise. Simply click the mute tab button and no sound will come from that tab!
• Close Tab - Just closes that tab.
• Close Other Tabs - Closes all the tabs.
• Close Tabs to the right - Closes all the tabs to the right of the tab you are currently on.
• Reopen closed tabs - If you accidentally close tabs, you can reopen them here!
• Bookmark all tabs - Another handy feature. You'd like to save all your open tabs and here you can easily bookmark every tab you have open!
