The mission of the Gunnison Watershed School District and the Crested Butte Community School is to “ensure all students are successful.” Summer Experience is one of the many programs we offer to fulfill our mission. Our Summer Experience program is a fun mix of academics, adventure, and creativity. The program is brought to you by the Gunnison Watershed School District Fund 26.
WHAT'S NEW IN 2019?
Summer Scholars! This summer, every student will be enrolled in a Summer Scholars class focused on building reading and math skills. Students will play games, make crafts, and have fun while practicing their academic skills. Teachers will work together to place students in the Summer Scholars class that best meets their needs and interests. Like in summers past, students will have three classes. This summer, kids will pick two classes and the Summer Scholars class will be added to their schedule by a team of teachers.

In addition to participating in Summer Experience, 2018-19 5th grade students are invited to register for the following middle school classes:
- Fun Field Trips for Creative Careers
- Backcountry Cooking Workshop
- July Peak Summits
- June Backpacking
- High Ropes Leadership Course
- Farm Overnight Adventure
