Full Face-to-Face Recess, Lunch,and Snacks
30 Minutes of Recess Daily
Students will receive one 30-minute recess time each day. Teachers may choose to take students outside for additional breaks (or an outdoor mask breaks) during the days that would be in addition to the 30-minute scheduled recess. The largest number of students at recess at a time is 90 students.
Students are required to wear masks during their scheduled recess times, as they will be outside with other classes. This requirement comes from the Governor's Return to School Roadmap.
30 Minutes for Lunch
Students will receive a 30-minute lunch period each day. During this time, a maximum of 90 students will be housed in the cafeteria. They will seated at long 12-foot tables and will be spaced less than 3-feet apart at each table. Time will remain between lunches this year to allow for more time to clean and sanitize between lunches.
Visitors for lunch
We will not be allowing visitors at lunch. Since students will be at assigned desks to allow for social distancing and contact tracing, we do not currently have room for visitors. Also, the current building plan is not to have volunteers, visitors, or guests to limit possible exposure.
Lunch Choices
There will be two hot lunch choices instead of three like most years. Students will still choose their lunch choice in the morning to help the kitchen prepare the correct number of each lunch choice. Students are also able to bring in their cold lunch.
Snack
Teachers will set individual snack times for their class, depending on their daily schedule. Students who have an early lunch, typically have snack in the afternoon. Classes with later lunches often have snack times schedules for the morning hours.
Teachers are asked to have students social distance while eating snack. Students will be between 2 feet and 4 feet apart for snack.
