Below is your very own Digital Tech Challenge Badge Chart (I will also put a paper copy in your mailbox that you can hang up to show off to others). Each week I will put a sticker badge in your mailbox for the challenge you complete to put on your paper chart to hang up for all to see and brag about your progress. I will also email you any earned digital badge you earn at the end of the week it was assigned (they will also be available in the "Helpful Resources" topic in Classroom if you complete them after the deadline). You can "stick" these (or upload them into the Drawing) on the attached digital chart if you wish.

Challenge #1: Canva Video Creator

There are many video editors out there, but few are as easy as Canva! Creating and sharing a video is very easy! Create and share an Oscar-winning masterpiece!  

Your Challenge: Create a Video Using Canva

Create a video using Canva and share it with me. This can be short and sweet or as entertaining as you want. I just want you to explore the tool. Make sure to share the link from Canva with me and set the privacy as "Anyone with the link" so I can view it!

1. Make sure you are in an EDU Canva account (https://www.canva.com/education/). 

2. Head over to https://www.canva.com.

3. Create a video of any kind (slideshow, quick video, or any recording).

4. Explore adding intros, templates, text, photos, or anything you want.

5. Share this with me by clicking "Share" at the top right and then “Copy link” and share this with me. Make sure to change share settings to "Anyone with the link".

Challenge #2: FigJam Whiteboard

Looking for an awesome (and free) whiteboard tool? Even better, one that does everything, and is free? Did I mention FREE? FigJam will be replacing Google’s Jamboard in the upcoming year, and this is a good thing. Check it out and start creating!

Your Challenge: Create a FigJam Whiteboard

Create a FigJam whiteboard and share it with me.

1. Head over to figma.com/education and click "Get Varified" to get the EDU account.

Challenge #3: AI Image Creation

It seems that every day there is a new AI image tool being created. Some of these are great and even free. One that is worth looking into is Ideogram. This tool will create an image from a text description. It is easy to use and FREE.

• One thing to keep in mind, this is a public tool. Everything created is shared with everyone. That means that there could be some questionable images displayed. I would recommend that only teachers or older students use this tool, and not K-5 kiddos.

Your Challenge: Have AI Create an Image from Your Text

It is Conference week so let's do something EASY! Create a masterpiece using Scribble Diffusion.

1. Head over to https://ideogram.ai/. 

2. Get creative and draw a fun image and describe it in a few words.

3. Have the AI create an image. Do this until you see something you like.

4. Download this as an image file.

5. Upload this image to Google Classroom.

Challenge #4: Canva Present and Record

Canva is an awesome tool. It is great for creating images, posters, signs, logos, documents, and presentations. Now, you can even take one of those presentations (or upload one you created in Office or Google) and record your voice and yourself presenting the slides for students or parents to watch later!

*Make sure you sign up for Canva for Education to get all the FREE upgrades! (canva.com/education)

Your Challenge:  Create and Record a Canva Presentation

Create a video of a slideshow. This can be a slideshow you already made in Google Slides or PowerPoint, or make a quick one in Canva.

1. Make sure you are in an EDU Canva account. 

2. Either upload an existing presentation or create one in Canva (canva.com).

3. When you are ready to record your presentation click the “Present” button.

4. Click on “Present and record” and then “Next”. 

5. Then go to “Go to recording studio”.

6. You will be asked to approve/set up audio/video and then to click “Start recording”. 

7. While presenting you can advance slides with the arrow on the right. You can click the pause button to pause. On the right, there is a place to add presenter notes that will not be seen by viewers. When you are done click the “End recording” button to end your recording.

8. Share this with me by clicking "Share" at the top right and then “Copy link” and share this with me. Make sure to change share settings to "Anyone with the link".

Challenge #5: Notion for Organization

Notion is another organizational tool that does more than just "To-Do" lists. You can create lists, checklists, plans, bundles of documents, audio clips,  videos/images, and organize everything in your life! You can collaborate on your lists and tools as well. If you are looking for something to help you organize multiple concepts, create lists, and put everything together, Notion is a tool to look into.

Your Challenge: Create a Notion Board

Create a Notion "notebook" and add some details, plans, events, or anything in it to explore.

1. Head over to https://www.notion.so/product. Create an account.

2. Explore some of the tools. Create a list, To-Do list, Note, or organize some Google files on your screen. Just poke a round and explore a little. This does not have to be completed in any way, I want you to "play around" and explore a little.

Text can come in all sorts of styles. If you are working with a digital file, document, or slide using animated or motion text can spice it up and engage students. the website cooltext.com is a free site that lets you create animated text and images to use in all your digital content.

Challenge #7: Magic School AI Tools

AI (artificial intelligence) is everywhere today. If you have not explored tools like ChatGPT or others it is a great time to poke around. These tools can make your life so much better, and save you hours every week. One of the best ones for teachers is MagicSchool.ai. Create an account (free) and explore the 50 tools to make grade-level-based rubrics, lessons, summaries, text rewrites, quizzes, and so much more. Seriously, check this site out!

Explore and create anything using MagicSchool.ai.

1. Head over to https://app.magicschool.ai/ and create an account (free).

2. Explore some of the tools! I suggest looking at

All kinds of websites offer great classroom tools for teachers. They all have great things to offer, but if you are like you hate to have so many tabs open with one tool on each tab. ClassroomScreen to the rescue! This site has them all in one tab, easy to use, turn on/off, and interactive. Go to classroomscreen.com and take a look! All for FREE!

Challenge #9: Create a Video with ClipChamp

Are you looking for an easy (and free) way to create incredible videos? ClipChamp is an excellent option. It is easy to use and both web-based or PC-based (already installed on your Windows machine) and you or your students can even create videos on a Chromebook! 

Your Challenge: Create a Video with ClipChamp

Create a Video with ClipChamp and share it with me. 

You can create your entire video within the website using your camera, but I suggest you get your actual video recordings done first. You can use your laptop, phone, tablet, or any means to record the footage you want and upload all the videos to your Google Drive (or save them to the device you will be working with). This site can access them if you sign in with Google.

There are 2 ways to get to ClipChamp:

1. • Head over to app.clipchamp.com and create your account. If you sign in with Google you will have access to your Google Drive for your already recorded and uploaded content.

   • Search for it on your Windows Computer

1. Browse the Templates to see if there is something you would like to start with or click the “+” icon to create from scratch.

2. Create a short video (slide show or any type of creation using ClipChamp).

3. When you are done, download this project as a video and upload it to this Assignment in this Google Classroom.

𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐬 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞 (𝘔𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘶𝘱 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘓𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘈𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘵)

Deadlines...ugh! I, too, hate deadlines. I know many of you are like me and would wait until the last week to do all the challenges. Unfortunately, this would cause me to then be shuffling stickers, attaching individual treats, driving to buildings to deliver, and basically making a mess of the "Who got what and when" system that needs to be balanced with multiple buildings, and this many players. That would take the fun from me (so sad). I also don't want anyone to give up if they miss a Challenge deadline. This should be fun and hopefully inspire some new learning. 

So...I am posting one "Bonus Challenge". This will make any single (just one single chance) "Late Assignment" worth the full point! Think of it as an "Oops" assignment. Life happens (trust me, I understand), and I don't want anyone getting frustrated when that happens. If you have a late assignment, just do this task and the late assignment will be marked for "Full Credit"! Keep in mind, you still have to complete the missing Challenge, but it will be counted as "On Time" and get full credit.

Bonus Challenge: Cooking with Emoji Kitchen

Emojis are part of the texting world. There are many out there, but I always want more. There is an easy way to create your own emojis to fit your needs. You can combine 2 emojis into one! Head over to a new Google search tab, do a search for “Emoji Kitchen”, click “Get Cooking”, and start creating! 

1. Head over to Emoji Kitchen with either a Google search for "Emoji Kitchen" or click here: https://emoji.supply/kitchen.

2. Create a new emoji.

3. Download this new image.

4. Upload to this Classroom and Turn In!
