These Donation Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern all donations made to The Village Project and distributed through Guildara. By making a donation or subscribing or establishing a recurring donation, you agree to these Terms.
Purpose and Scholarship Eligibility
Donations are used to fund scholarships distributed through Guildara.
Scholarships apply exclusively to registrations for participants under the age of eighteen (18) who demonstrate financial need and enroll in activities approved for scholarships under Guildara’s Promotion Policy.
Donations may only be distributed to activities offered by organizations that are approved to operate on Guildara at the time of distribution.
If a donor directs funds to an organization that:
does not offer activities for participants under 18; or
does not have activities approved for scholarships under Guildara’s Promotion Policy,
such donations shall not be returned or refunded.
Organizational Status
If an organization ceases to operate on Guildara, voluntarily closes its account, or has its account suspended or terminated for misuse or violation of applicable policies, any previously donated funds allocated to that organization shall not be returned or refunded.
In such cases, funds may be reallocated in accordance with Section 4 of these Terms.
No Refund Policy
All donations are final.
Under no circumstances shall donations be returned, refunded, or credited back to the donor, except where required by applicable law.
Cancellation of a recurring donation will stop future scheduled donations but will not cancel, reverse, or refund any donation that has already been processed.
Customized Donor Contributions and Unused Funds
Donors may choose to contribute directly to The Village Project General Fund or designate their donations to a specific organization or other available criteria.
Where a donor specifies criteria, restrictions, or a designated organization for the use of donated funds (“Donor-Customized Funds”), such funds will be applied in accordance with the donor’s designation, subject to operational feasibility and these Terms.
For active monthly supporters, your selected designation will automatically apply to each recurring donation unless your preferences are subsequently modified or updated in accordance with these Terms.
Unallocated Funds
If Donor-Customized Funds cannot currently be allocated to any eligible registration due to the selected criteria, The Village Project may make reasonable efforts to contact the donor and/or the designated organization to review and update the criteria.
However, to ensure all contributions actively support our mission, The Village Project may broaden or update the designation criteria if either of the following occurs:
No Response: The donor does not respond within thirty (30) days after multiple reasonable attempts to contact them using the contact information provided at the time of donation; or
Inactivity: The funds remain unallocated for a period of six (6) consecutive months, meaning the funds have not been successfully applied to any eligible registration.
then The Village Project may update the designation criteria as follows:
If a specific organization was designated and remains operative on Guildara: The criteria may be broadened so that the funds can be applied to any scholarship-eligible activity offered by that organization, provided the organization remains approved to operate on Guildara and its activities are approved under Guildara’s Promotion Policy.
If no organization was designated, or if the designated organization is no longer eligible to receive scholarship funds: The criteria may be updated so that the funds are redirected to The Village Project General Fund. This fund specifically supports registrations for all participants under the age of eighteen (18) who demonstrate financial need in activities approved under Guildara’s Promotion Policy.
The Village Project will make reasonable efforts to contact the donor before updating designation criteria due to the donor's lack of response as described above. However, if Donor-Customized Funds remain unallocated for six (6) consecutive months, The Village Project may update the designation criteria without contacting the donor.
For active monthly supporters, once designation criteria are updated under this section, the new criteria will automatically apply to all future recurring donations.
Deletion of Labels
Deletion of Labels
If a label selected as part of the Donor’s designation criteria is subsequently deleted by the applicable organization, such label shall be automatically removed from the applicable donation criteria without further notice. Any remaining valid designation criteria shall continue to apply.
Under no circumstances shall donations be refunded, except where required by applicable law.
Payment Processing
Online donations are processed through Stripe, a trusted third-party payment processor.
All payment information, including credit card and bank account details, provided directly by the donor to Stripe. The Village Project does not process payments directly, nor do we collect or store payment card or bank account information.
For recurring donations, the donor authorizes Stripe to store and use the selected payment method to process future monthly donations until the recurring donation is canceled. Stripe’s terms and privacy policies govern the processing of such payment information.
Recurring Donations
If you choose to make a recurring donation, you authorize The Village Project and Stripe to automatically charge your selected donation amount to your designated payment method on a monthly basis. These recurring donations will continue automatically each month until canceled.
You may manage or cancel your recurring donation at any time using our donation-management options. Cancellations will apply strictly to future scheduled donations and will not result in a refund for any transaction that have already been processed.
If a monthly payment cannot be completed, our payment processor may automatically retry the card on file. If the payment continues to fail, the recurring arrangement may be suspended or canceled, and you will be asked to update your billing details. Please note that a donation is not considered complete until it has successfully been processed.
Modifications to These Terms
The Village Project may update or alter these recurring donation terms at any time. When a change occurs, each individual donation will be governed by the specific terms in effect at the exact time it processes.
For recurring donations, any material changes affecting your donation amount, billing frequency, payment authorization, or cancellation steps will be communicated to you in advance as required by law. Keeping your recurring donation active after any other policy updates take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
