Vision on leadership

We have a specific vision on leadership which is aligned with our values. The core of this vision is that leadership is being servant to a greater cause and to the people you lead. The servant leadership at Guidion is focussed on being human centric and to 'what is good for Guidion'. This means leaders not only 'eat last'. They actually put organizational interest over personal interests. It is a rather idealistic take on leadership, based on a positive outlook on life. To act accordingly is easier said than done, but it is a key cornerstone of Guidion culture. Only if leaders 'walk the talk' (act according to our values), can the culture and therefore the organization thrive. This environment will give the opportunity for real personal and professional growth.

However, like all things in life, what is truly valuable does not come easy. It is a lot to ask, especially for young professionals that start out in leadership roles. It requires that you know yourself, that you trust your own judgment, that you resist short term personal interests, that you will speak out when behavior no longer matches with our values. It requires being brutally honest when giving feedback, and that you are truly open (and therefore vulnerable) when receiving feedback. It requires the confidence to really strive to become obsolete. And the belief that this attitude will open the doors for your personal growth.

Guidion is a great place to learn and develop these leadership skills. First of all there is true psychological safety. Next, we encourage everyone to make mistakes and learn. We are happy to help you along the way. Just ask. It will require you to step out of your comfort zone and step up your game. It will be challenging and sometimes even daunting. It will for sure be fun. And by the time you leave us, you will hopefully look back on a very special period in your life and become an ambassador.
