Changing your device's language affects Chromebook settings/menus and requires a restart.
Adding or removing web content languages affects options for translating web search results.
Change settings to set the language that you want to translate to.
Use to translate highlighted words.
Use this when typing.
The prediction tool will suggest words that you might use next.
Or, if you start to type a word, it will suggest words that you may be trying to spell.
You can select a word from the pop-up list to use it.
Use to look up the definitions for highlighted words.
The Picture Dictionary provides related pictures rather than text definitions.
Use to conduct a web search for highlighted words.
Use to have highlighted words read aloud.
Use to create an audio file of the highlighted words read aloud.
Use to take a screenshot and have text read aloud. This is useful when there is text on images.
Use to have your computer type what you speak aloud.
Use to help you focus when reading.
Select text and click to highlight text. Four colors are available so you can assign meanings for colors.
Select text and click to clear highlighting from text.
Click to create a Google Doc with all of your highlighted text.
Click to create a Google Doc vocabulary list of highlighted words with definitions.
Use to make text more readable.
This is particularly helpful on busy web pages with ads, etc.
After the page reloads, use the special toolbar to:
Simplify text with +/-
Discover potential vocabulary words and see definitions by clicking on underlined words
Change the text display colors, fonts sizes and styles, and spacing
