The Valhalla Instrumental Music Department at Valhalla High School is based in El Cajon, CA.

Our Award Winning Ensembles consist of students grades 9-12.

The ensembles are under the direction of Mr. Abel Maldonado.

We perform a variety of literature at concerts, festivals and competitions throughout the year and develop musicianship at the highest level.

Valhalla Vanguard makes finalist round FOR NATIONAL metallica competition

The Vanguard is selected as a finalist in the small bands division! There were five bands selected. Over 140 videos were submitted! The members of Metallica will vote for the actual winner. The prize is $15,000 in musical equipment!!! There is a second price for FAN FAVORITE! The prize is $10,000!!!
