Tryouts

• Attending Tryouts is MANDATORY to make one of the teams.

• Students must be cleared prior to the first day of tryouts (07/31/25), in order to participate.  There are no exceptions.

• The Santana Finance Office for student clearance will be closed for the summer starting July 4th and not reopen until July 29th.  

• Students without the blue clearance form on the first day of tryouts will be turned

1. Print the physical form found here.

2. Parent completes top section of form. Signature is required.

3. Physicals are required annually and must be valid throughout the entire season of your sport.

4. Please have Doctor and Medical Provider stamp and sign the completed physical form.

5. Physicals are good for one year from the date of the exam – not the date the physician completed the form.

6. Physicals must be done by a MD or DO only.

7. AFC Santee Patient Services (Urgent Care) off Mission Gorge Road does walk up physicals for $79 (last time I checked). Days and Times for Sports Physicals are usually Thursdays and Fridays from 8am - 1pm. But it can vary depending on when the doctor is present // Phone #: (619) 456-0033.

1. You can start the clearance process starting June 1, 2025.

2. To begin new clearance for 2025-2026, go to https://www.homecampus.com/ select “For Students & Parents” box in the top right corner. 

3. Select CA

4. New Users: Register for a new account and then proceed to login.

5. Returning Users: Login

6. Select: Start New Clearance Here in the top right corner.

7. Select school: Santana

8. Select year: 2025-2026

9. Choose as many sports as you think you will try/play using “add new sport” (if you decide to try a new sport later in the year, please go to finance to have a sport added to an existing clearance)

10. Complete the Online forms.

11. Insurance Company and Policy number must be completed.

12. Signatures MUST be entered EXACTLY as they were input while filling out the forms.

13. Print and sign the Confirmation/Consent sheet. BOTH parent and student sign.

14. If you are experiencing trouble accessing the website and you are using Google Chrome – switch to Internet Explorer or Firefox.

1. Bring the current physical and signed athletic clearance form to the Finance Office starting on June 9, 2025. 

   • The Finance Office will be open from 8:00am -12:00pm Monday-Friday for students to clear from June 9th - July 3rd. 

   • The finance will reopen around July 29th. Many student athletes will be trying to clear - lines may be long so please plan accordingly. The finance office contact information is Kaylinn Rasmusson // email address: krasmusson@guhsd.net 

2. Once the student turns in all the correct paperwork to the finance office, they will receive a Blue Clearance/Emergency contact form to give to the coach. 

3. This blue form MUST be handed to the coach in order to tryout. No exceptions.

• Thursday July 31st - Varsity 3pm-5pm; Freshman/JV: 10am-12pm

• Friday August 1st - Varsity 3pm-5pm; Freshman/JV: 10am-12pm

• Saturday August 2nd - Varsity 3pm-5pm; Freshman/JV: 10am-12pm

Santana Girls Volleyball will have tryouts starting August 1st in our gymnasium. I wanted to send a friendly reminder that in order to try out, players will need to complete the online athletic clearance process, have a current physical and take the completed documents to the finance office to receive a blue clearance form. For more information about clearing, please see the clearance guide found here. Several additional notes about tryouts:

1. Please RSVP for tryouts here. 

2. Players will not be allowed to try out without their blue clearance form. There will be no makeup tryouts for those who do not clear in time. Note: The finance office is currently closed and will reopen starting on TBD to clear students, lines will be long so please plan accordingly. 

3. Players are encouraged to attend all tryouts they may be interested in. For example, a player could attend the Varsity tryout and also attend the JV tryout if interested in both teams.

4. Please arrive 30 minutes before the designated tryout start time to get checked in and set up the nets. 

5. Cuts will be made daily. Cuts will be posted on the home page of our girls' volleyball website which you can access here. Students should know their Student ID and Bib Number (Bib Number will be provided on the first day of tryouts) as this is how we will post players who are being asked to return each day. 

6. To encourage focus and lessen the pressure, our tryouts are closed. Only players may attend.

7. If a player is selected for a team, regular practices will begin August 4th. Freshman/JV will have practice from TBD; Varsity TBD pm.

8. If a player is selected for a team, there will be a mandatory parent/player meeting the first week of practice starting at 7:00pm in the gymnasium. More information to follow.
