The flu isn't dangerous to most people. It is only dangerous to people older than 65, young children, pregnant women, people with heart disease, cancer, diabetes, hiv/aids,and children with chronic neurological conditions. If the immune system is compromised or doesn't work as well as it is supposed to, then it can't easily get rid of the flu. This is why the people that are compromised are at risk. The main people at risk among them is the elderly as there immune system start to get worse. The flu can make chronic issues worse and this also contributes to the people that are liable. As people get older they may get more of the diseases which make the flu more dangerous. People could also get chronic diseases as time passes on. The fever caused by the flu is also dangerous as it heats up the body and damaged the virus and your cells. While these people are more likely to have severe issues, they are just more likely meaning that people that aren't in this classification can die from influenza.
