Pitching a Podcast
Pitching a Podcast
Imagine that you are creating your own podcast mini-series that will explore one main narrative similar to the Serial podcast. Consider the following:
Name of the podcast
Tagline, 1-sentence description of the podcast
Hosts - Why you? Why would people want to listen to you and your podcast? What is your credibility on this subject?
Anticipated audience - Who is your intended audience? What group of people do you believe would most enjoy and appreciate your podcast?
Podcast purpose - What is your purpose/message? What do you hope to accomplish?
Creating a Podcast Introduction
In order to get new listeners, podcasts will often create a brief audio introduction that works like a trailer, teaser, or preview for the podcast. Podcasts with established podcast audiences will typically play these introductions so that listeners may discover new content to listen and subscribe to.
