Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is a chronic condition in which the pancreas produces little or no insulin. It typically appears is adolescence. Symptoms include increased thirst, frequent urination, hunger, fatigue, and blurred vision. Diabetes cannot be cured but it can be helped through treatments. Treatment aims at maintaining normal blood sugar levels through regular monitoring, insulin therapy, diet, and exercise.

It is estimated that there are 415 million people living with diabetes in the world. Out of the 415 million there are approximately 40 million people with type 1 diabetes which is about ten percent of the total people with diabetes.

Type one diabetes can happen to anyone as it is not related to genetics in any way. Genetics and environmental factors such as being overweight or inactive contribute to type 2 diabetes. Being diabetic can cause someone to become unhealthy. Sense they are not able get glucose into their cells they drop a considerable amount of weight in a short amount of time which is not good for the body.

The amount of people that have been diagnosed with diabetes has increased over the years making it a more pressing matter for people. Type 1 diabetes is not currently curable so it is important for the population to have a small amount of people it.

This graph directly correlates with the one above because this shows that the cost of insulin which has increased considerably sense it first was put on the market. With more people needing the insulin the cost of it has increased because of supply and demand.

There is currently no way for type 1 diabetes to be avoided because it is random and not related to genetic or any environmental factor. In the future there might be a cure but there is no cure as of yet. Type 2 diabetes on the other hand can be prevented by making making good life style choices or losing weight through healthy eating and regular physical activity. If someone does contract diabetes insulin shots help them considerable because they cannot produce it them self.
