Teen Patti, often called the Indian poker, is a thrilling card game of chance and strategy enjoyed by millions. Learning its basics is simple, and the excitement it offers is immense. Here is a guide to get you started.

The game is traditionally played with a standard 52-card deck, without jokers, by three to six players. The objective is to have the best three-card hand. The ranking of hands, from highest to lowest, is: Trail or Set (three cards of the same rank), Pure Sequence or Straight Flush (three consecutive cards of the same suit), Sequence or Run (three consecutive cards of mixed suits), Color or Flush (three cards of the same suit, not in sequence), Pair (two cards of the same rank), and High Card (if none of the above).

A game begins with players placing an agreed ante into the pot. Each player is then dealt three cards face down. The action proceeds in a clockwise direction. Players have two options: they can either play blind, meaning they bet without looking at their cards, or they can play seen, after looking at their cards. A seen player must bet at least twice the amount of a blind player. A player can fold, forfeiting their cards and any chance at the pot.

Betting continues round by round until only two players remain. At this point, a showdown occurs. These remaining players compare their hands, and the one with the highest ranking hand wins the entire pot. A key rule is that a blind player, even with a weaker hand, can win against a seen player if they choose to challenge them to a showdown.

The true fun of Teen Patti lies in the bluffing and the psychological play. Reading opponents and managing your bets wisely is as important as the cards you hold. Remember to play responsibly, set limits, and enjoy this classic game of skill and luck with friends.
