Teen Patti, often called Indian Poker, is a thrilling card game of chance and strategy that has captivated players for generations. Its simplicity and fast-paced nature make it a favorite at social gatherings. Here is a guide to get you started.

The game is typically played with three to six players using a standard 52-card deck without jokers. Each player is dealt three cards face down. The objective is to have the best three-card hand compared to the others. The hierarchy of hands is similar to poker but simplified. The highest is a Trail or Set (three cards of the same rank), followed by a Pure Sequence or Straight Flush (three consecutive cards of the same suit), a Sequence or Straight (consecutive cards of mixed suits), a Color or Flush (three cards of the same suit), a Pair (two cards of the same rank), and finally High Card where the highest card wins.

A round begins with players placing an agreed ante into the pot. Betting then proceeds in a clockwise direction. Players can choose to see their cards and play blind, often with different betting limits. A player can bet, call the current bet, or fold and leave the game. The betting continues until only two players remain, at which point a showdown occurs. Alternatively, a player can challenge another to a showdown by placing a bet equal to the current pot.

The key to enjoyment is playing responsibly. Set a budget for your session and stick to it. The social and strategic elements—reading opponents, managing your bets, and the excitement of the reveal—are what make Teen Patti truly engaging. Remember, it is a game of luck blended with momentary decisions. Whether you are playing with friends or family, understanding these basic rules will allow you to join the fun and experience a beloved cultural pastime.
