To help make sure that children can go to school with what they need, without the added financial stress, we are working with Cheshire West and Chester Council (CWaC) to provide free school uniform items to families who need extra support.
To access this support is simple, you make an application by selecting 'Apply Now' before the 31st July 2026.
Anyone in need with a CWaC Postcode and/or with a child attending a school located in CWaC can apply.
We provide support to access nearly new and new generic uniform for all school aged children, and support with logo uniform for secondary school children.
If you have already made an application with us and received your collection code, then you can arrange to collect your items by selecting 'Book Now'.
Your items will be available for collection at Wyvern House, Winsford, CW7 1AH. Collection times will be confirmed from the 1st July and our 'Book Now' function will appear after this date. If you have any difficulties, please call us on 07835851908 or email info@gubco.org.
Do I have to be in receipt of benefits to make an application?
No, this support is not means tested and you do not need to be in receipt of any particular benefits. We want families to be able to access support easily when they need it, without barriers.
What do I do if I have more than 5 children?
We can still help, there is no cap per household, support is provided per child. The application is completed per household, so if all children do not live in the same house, complete one application per household. If all children live in a single household please submit two forms with the same name and address and make a note at the end of the form to indicate this. We will then match up the forms our end.
What generic items are you able to provide?
We are able to provide almost all generic items, including school shoes. The only items we do not provide are bags and coats. However, if you need help with these, please do let us know as we may be able to help through another scheme.
Are you able to provide all logo items?
We are able to provide up to 4 logo items per secondary school child. Unfortunately, we are unable to fund logo items for primary school aged children unless your school does not accept a generic alternative. This is to ensure that the funding has maximum reach and that more generic uniform can be used for longer.
Do you purchase the uniform or do you provide a voucher?
We purchase the uniform for you to collect. This is why its important to ensure that you ask for the correct size as it may be difficult for us to return or exchange any items which we have purchased on your behalf.
Do you provide new uniform items?
We first try and fulfil your request with nearly new items where we can. If we are unable to, we will then purchase your items new.
What happens after I have submitted an application?
You will receive a confirmation email to let you know we have received application. We will review your application within 3 working days and let you know if we have any queries. We will then let you know if we are able to fully or partially fulfil your request via email and provide you with a collection code via text.
When can I collect my uniform?
We will let you know when its ready to collect via email and text. You will be able to collect it from Wyvern House and can book a slot to collect so that you can pop straight in and be seen. Although you do not have to book you can just turn up. You can collect your items on XXX.

Holiday Activities and Food Fund (HAF)
