Google Drawings has real value for teachers and students. However, it is glaringly misnamed. The tool has no way to sketch and jot. It would be a real shame if G Suite for Education had no solution for digital drawing.
The good news is there are actually four Google apps that draw! Even if Google Drawings is not one of these four, it still has some great benefits that should be noted:

Google Drawings is one of the most overlooked tools available to you. This vector based drawing tool allows you and your students to demonstrate their learning in a visual way. Drawings are easily imported into Google Docs and Slides.
Google Drawings is accessed from the More menu found in Google Drive.

You can create your own designs with Canvas. Your drawings are synced to your Google account, so you can get to them from your Chrome browser.
