The learning intention for this session is to provide participants with a deeper understanding of Algorithms within the K-6 Australian Curriculum and NESA syllabuses. Coding concepts will be explored through the lens of the Bruner Model and participants will create a number guessing game. The three phases are:
Enactive - You will play the Number Guessing game and write down the steps needed to play
Iconic - You will use the written instructions to create a flowchart
Symbolic - You will be introduced to Scratch and use the flowchart previously created to program the Number Guessing game.
Physically engage and identify the algorithm from a 'high' level of abstraction
Create a Flowchart to represent the algorithm and the coding concepts within the algorithm
Use a Visual Programming Language to code a program for an end user
