Try inserting and manipulating images.
Only use images for which you have permission to use.
- Remember that all images should be attributed. Here is some information on attributing Creative Commons images.
- If an image is your own, state that it is your own.
- If an image is CC0 Public Domain, then that is all you need to include.
- Even with CC0 Public Domain images, it is nice to provide a link to where you obtained the image.
You may use:
- Images that you created (photos, graphics...). In all cases, you will want to reference the images so that folks know that the images are yours.
- Images for which you have paid for their use.
- Images which are not your creations but where the creator has given permission to use without payment. (Creator provides permission in writing, Public domain, Creative Commons...)
You may NOT use:
- Photos taken by you which have people in them who have not given written permission.
- Images of students.
- Images of students.
- Images of students. Period. Got it?
- Exceptions: It is great to have images of your students on your ePortfolio. If you really want to include those, you will need:
- Written permission from parents, or
- You can take the shots so that nobody is recognizable. (Hands doing things, backs of heads...)
- Exceptions: It is great to have images of your students on your ePortfolio. If you really want to include those, you will need:
- Images that were created by others but which you do not have permission for use
- (Just because an image is found in a Google search does not mean that you have permission to use it in a public venue.)
In all cases:
- You are required to provide attribution for the image, whether it is your own creation or not. Providing a link to the Google image search is not attribution. Google is a search engine.
- In addition, if others are the subject of, or are in your images, attribution should include a statement that mentions permission was granted (without mentioning names).
