In recent years, quantum technologies such as quantum life sciences, quantum sensing, quantum information and quantum communication have gone beyond the framework of information science and are rapidly being applied to many fields, including life, energy, the environment and materials development. In particular, there are high expectations for the role quantum technology can play in realising carbon neutrality, which is a global challenge. Four research facilities - Molecular Photoscience Research Centre, Kobe University, Research Center for Development of Far-Infrared Region of Fukui University, Institute of Post-LED Photonics, Tokushima University and Biosignal Research Centre, Kobe University - are collaborating to develop new light sources and advanced measurement methods in the microwave to ultraviolet range, and to conduct applied research in various fields using such sources. They are also conducting advanced research into the understanding of life phenomena through light-energy conversion, its medical applications and the realisation of carbon neutrality. We have therefore invited leading researchers and experts from Japan and abroad to an international research seminar to share and discuss the latest developments in quantum life sciences, coherent spectroscopy and analysis of quantum phenomena, including chirality spin selection. We sincerely look forward to your participation.
