We have had a brilliant week at Brunswick Park!
On Thursday, we dressed in yellow for World Mental Health Day. Across the school, children took part in different activities to develop their understanding of mental health.
The Assistant Headteachers and I had a wonderful time visiting classrooms this week. We have been blown away by the excellent teaching and learning we have seen, and the fantastic positive attitude for learning and beautiful manners demonstrated by our pupils.
We look forward to seeing you at next week's parent consultations on Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th October.

Black History Month
October is Black History Month in the UK and Brunswick Park is marking Black History Month by remembering and celebrating the important people from the past and also those who contribute to and help British society today. These are histories, journeys and lives that are recognised and valued throughout the year, however, October is a special time when we acknowledge them nationwide.
Please do get in touch with your child’s class teacher if there is a story, information, artefacts or photos that your child would like to share with their class, or if you are able to support our BHM work in any other way (for example, coming in to read or tell a story).
Book Corner
It’s easy to feel lost in the flood of so many new children’s books available. Each month, we will highlight five published favourites chosen by BooksforTopics.
Detailed book reviews can be found on their website: https://www.booksfortopics.com/
Why not try to find these books in a local Barnet Library or local book shop!
Exciting news about our ‘Reading Ambassadors’ will be coming out next week!
Digital Citizen Week
From October 12th - 18th it is Digital Citizens Week. Being a Digital Citizen is the ability to navigate our digital environments in a way that's safe and responsible. It is about working to ensure we are contributing to the health and well-being of our online communities. As part of Digital Citizenship we will be spending time in classes discussing the importance of everyone at Brunswick Park School being a Digital Citizen who know how to stay safe, respect others, and participate meaningfully in our digital society.

JUST ONE Tree - Friday 18th October - Wear something green
JUST ONE Tree supports reforestation projects in areas severely affected by deforestation such as Kenya, Madagascar, Mozambique and Brazil. In doing so they have the greatest positive effect on limiting global warming whilst simultaneously alleviating extreme poverty within local communities through the provision of training, agricultural education and sustainable incomes.
JUST ONE Tree makes it simple for everyone to take collective action on the climate crisis because Just £1 plants 1 Tree.
We’re sure you will agree that tree planting is absolutely essential at this critical time for the planet. We will therefore be joining children, parents and teachers around the world on this day to demonstrate that an individual's actions can have a positive impact on the environment.
Please bring your suggested donation of £1 to school (and wear green) on 18th October 2024 or log on to SchoolMoney Shop to donate.
More information can be found at: https://www.justonetree.life/
We look forward to counting the number of trees that our school community can plant!
Cross Country
On Tuesday 8th October we took a group of twelve runners to the Barnet Schools Cross Country event at the Stone X fields in Mill Hill. Our team competed with great enthusiasm and incredible resilience in the wind and pouring rain against children from fifteen other schools. We are so very proud of them all for the way they supported one another and their smiles displayed a genuine enjoyment of a wonderful afternoon. Thank you to you all for representing Brunswick Park with such positivity.
