Parent Newsletter 6 13.10.23
This week, Year 4 went on a fantastic trip to St Albans Cathedral where they took part in many exciting activities including going on a Roman trail to learn the story of St Alban, developing their knowledge of Roman life and creating their own mosaics. They displayed impeccable manners, showed great respect and demonstrated fantastic listening skills. Thank you for representing our school incredibly - we are very proud of you Year 4!
On Tuesday, we were visited by Carla from the Royal Free Charity. She led a very interesting and informative assembly all about the Royal Free Charity. She then spoke to Year 6 about what A&E staff go through on a shift and how donations help the NHS. Year 6 had the opportunity to ask questions about the heart and a heart specialist will be answering their questions soon.
Today we took part in 'Just One Tree' alongside many other schools in Barnet. It was brilliant to see so many children getting involved. Thank you to the Environmental Team for organising this and thank you to our school community for supporting this important event.
Thank you for the Food Bank Aid donations that you have been bringing in throughout the week. The kindness and generosity of our Brunswick Park community is overwhelming. Please see the message below from Marcus at Food Bank Aid.
We look forward to seeing you at next week's Parent Consultations on Monday 16th and Tuesday 17th October.
Have a wonderful weekend!
From Marcus at Food Bank Aid

Black History Month 2023
October is Black History Month in the UK, and Brunswick Park is marking Black History Month by remembering and celebrating the important people from the past and also those who contribute to and help British society today. This year, we are learning about the Windrush Generation. These are histories, journeys and lives that are recognised and valued throughout the year, however, October is a special time when we acknowledge them nationwide.
Please do get in touch with your child’s class teacher if there is a story, information, artefacts or photos that your child would like to share with their class, or if you are able to support our BHM work in any other way (for example, coming in to read or tell a story).
School Photos
The school photographers will be here on Monday 16th October. If your child has a sibling who is not at this school, and you would like a photo taken with their BP sibling, you can have this done from 8am until 8.30am on Monday 16th October. The photographers will be in the studio.
EYFS and KS1 Phonics Workshop
We are planning on holding a workshop for EYFS and KS1 parents and carers to share with you how we teach phonics, and how you can support your child with reading at home. The workshop is being held on Tuesday 14th November at 5.30pm. Please kindly email the office on office@brunswickpark.barnetmail.net to let us know if you will be attending by Friday 10th November. We hope you can make it.
