This week has been extra special at Brunswick Park as there have been so many wow events taking place.
During the week, we all got to watch the incredible Year 6 production, 'Let Loose!' Year 6 were true superstars: their singing was spectacular, acting was amazing and dancing fantastic. Their circus skills also amazed me! As I said on the night, Year 6 shone so brightly and we are very proud of them all. A huge well done and thank you to the amazing Year 6 team for enabling the show to happen and to everyone who helped on the night.
Yesterday, EYFS and KS1 had their sports day. It was a fantastic morning. We are so proud of the children for demonstrating our school values - it was wonderful to see everyone having so much fun. Thank you to all parents and carers who came along to support on the day, our super staff who helped out, and to our brilliant Brunswick Park PE team for organising another spectacular sports day.
KS2's sports day has been rescheduled for the 11th July - we are all really looking forward to this day.
Well done to Year 4 for their amazing final flute and clarinet concert. It has been wonderful to see and hear their musical progress throughout the year.
Thank you
Last week, we had our Summer Party and it was a fantastic evening! It was wonderful to catch up with so many of you and see everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves.
I would like to thank everyone who attended the event, and the staff and volunteers who helped on the day. A big thank you to our PTA - without them, the Summer Party would not have happened.
I would like to take this opportunity to say a massive thank you to Olivia, the PTA chair, for her non-stop enthusiasm, dedication and support whilst she has led the PTA. We are very sad to see her leave our Brunswick Park family, and wish her and her family the very best of luck as they begin their new exciting adventure. We will miss you!
Message from PTA
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped out on the Summer Party, the event would not have been a success without all your help.
Thank you to everyone for coming and enjoying the event, we hope the children had a great time!
The summer party made a whopping profit of £5935.00!!!!
We are extremely happy with how everything turned out and excited for the coming year.
Sadly our amazing PTA Chair; Olivia is leaving the country, wishing her all the best in her future adventures.
We would like to take this opportunity to welcome new members to the PTA, if anyone is interested please contact us on brunswickparkpta@gmail.com.
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Monday 15th July at 7:30pm, location TBC. Additionally if you would like to join online, a link will be provided closer to the time.
PTA would like to invite everyone to a picnic in the park on the last day of term; Friday 19th July at 1:30pm. So come along with your picnic blanket and snacks for a fun way to end the academic year! See you there.
Thank you
PTA team
Year 5 Ancient Greek Day
Year 5 had a wonderful time on Monday celebrating all things Ancient Greek. We held a mini Olympics, learned how to write our names in Greek, had an amazing banquet with food brought in by the children and finally attempted to build the Parthenon out of newspaper.
Beau
A huge congratulations to Beau in Year 2 who has successfully secured an acting job in Malaysia. Beau will start his adventure at the end of this month and we wish him every success. Go smash it Beau - we are very proud of you.
STEM Science
Please find below a link to the STEM Science magazine.
In the issue they focus on "machines and technology". They begin by tracing the evolution of technology over the centuries and see what "dream machines" our STEM Doradians envision. Children learn about the ground-breaking invention of the steam engine, new environmentally friendly technologies being developed to replace plastic, and how to build a simple electric motor at home. It's also fascinating to know how the study of particles that make up the universe has led to the invention of some remarkable technologies.
A message from Barnet Libraries - The Summer Reading Challenge is back!
The Reading Agency and Barnet Libraries are excited to introduce Marvellous Makers, Summer Reading Challenge 2024. The theme for this year is creativity through reading.
All children aged 4 to 12 can sign up for the challenge at the library from Saturday 6 July. They will need to borrow and read 6 books from any Barnet library to complete the challenge. Reading eBooks via the Libby app or listening to eAudiobooks on the BorrowBox app also count.
During staffed hours at the library, the children collect stickers on their reading journey. When they complete the challenge, they will receive a special certificate and medal. The challenge ends on Saturday 7 September.
We also have an exciting programme of events lined up, including a chance to design a parachute at the RAF Museum, Hendon on Saturday 13 July. Visit www.barnet.gov.uk/marvellousmakers or scan the QR Code below to discover the full programme.
You can also sign up for the Barnet Libraries’ newsletter for families and follow us on Facebook and Twitter(X) for weekly updates on activities and events for children of all ages.
