To start the week, we watched Year 6's show 'The School-O-Vision Song Contest!' The performers were superstars: they sang loudly, performed with confidence and danced with energy. We danced and clapped along; everyone shone brightly and we were all incredibly proud of Year 6. Their performance on Wednesday to their families was another major success - well done Year 6! A huge well done and thank you to the amazing Year 6 team for enabling the show to happen and to everyone who helped on the night.
On Thursday, KS2 Sports Day took place. The children had a brilliant time participating in a range of events, whilst demonstrating our special school values. Thank you to all parents and carers who came along to support on the day, our super staff who helped out, and to our brilliant Brunswick Park PE team for organising another spectacular Sports Day!
We have rescheduled EYFS+KS1 and Year 6 Sports Day. It is due to take place on Tuesday 15th July. EYFS+KS1 9:30am - 11:45am. Year 6 1:00pm - 2:45pm.
Another personal highlight of my week was cooking with a group of Year 3 children. I was so impressed by their knowledge, enthusiasm and positive approach to cooking. They rustled up a delicious vegetable stir fry and thoroughly enjoyed eating it!
Summer has arrived as today is our Summer Party! Please join us from 4.30pm - we hope you can make it!
Year 2 enjoyed an exciting visit to the Florence Nightingale Museum where they explored fascinating exhibits and deepened their understanding of her remarkable impact on nursing and healthcare.
This week Year 3 have been perfecting their cutting and peeling skills, whilst preparing and cooking a vegetable stir fry.
Everyone enjoyed the experience, leaving empty plates to be washed.
We definitely have some candidates for the next Master Chef!
Next week, they will be creating individual apple fruit crumbles. Delicious!

56% of pupils want to read because it gives them time to relax and unwind
56% of pupils visit the local or public library.
Why not take part in this year’s Summer Reading Challenge and join your local library!
Reading every day is beneficial. It enhances vocabulary, improves memory, boosts brainpower, and sharpens focus and concentration.
Reading Ambassador Book Recommendation:
The best thing about reading is learning new facts from non-fiction books and reading fiction is relaxing.
My favourite book at the moment is ‘Dotty Detective and the Paw Print Puzzle’.
I have enjoyed reading this book because there are little quizzes like ‘spot the difference’. I like finding clues and solving problems. It keeps my mind active.
I think you will enjoy this book because you will enjoy solving the problems yourself.
My favourite author at present is Rachel Renee Russel.
I would like to read ‘Dork Diaries series’ next.
Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
You can help at home by asking your child to talk about the best part of their day.
Ask your child open-ended questions like, “What was the best part of your day?” to help them express themselves more clearly.
Listen attentively, ask follow-up questions and engage in meaningful discussions.
Reading books together and discussing them afterward can be a great way to boost oracy.
Ask your child questions about the story or topic and encourage them to share their opinions or predictions.
This helps them develop their speaking and comprehension skills.
“Would you rather” questions are a fun and engaging way to encourage critical thinking and imagination. This week’s questions for discussion are . . .
Would you rather go have no electricity or no running water?
Would you rather wear clown shoes every day or a clown nose every day?
