Welcome back to the final half term of the school year.
This half term, our value is 'tolerance.' We look forward to exploring what tolerance means to us and how we can demonstrate tolerance in our lives.
We have already been making the most of the half term. Keep reading to discover what some classes have been up to this week...
Forest School with Miss Bines
Year 4 braved the rain and had a fantastic time in the woods, kickstarting their Viking topic by crafting longboats. They also wrapped up their science topic on sound by creating guitar strings—hammering nails into wood to explore different vibrations.
Year 1 also enjoyed their Forest School experience and became true kings and queens of the forest! They weaved willow branches into beautiful crowns and used flower petals to create symmetrical patterns on cloth. Although they stayed dry during the session, they were caught in a heavy downpour on the walk back—but kept smiling and singing all the way. Well done, Year 1!
1G really enjoyed the RAF museum today. They represented Brunswick Park Primary and Nursery School impeccably. We were so proud of all of them. Exploring the planes was very exciting.
Year 5 had a wonderful cultural experience during their visit to the Hare Krishna Temple. The day was filled with enriching activities that brought learning to life outside the classroom. They explored the temple’s vibrant traditions by visiting the on-site farm, where they learned about sustainable living and the importance of caring for animals. They witnessed prayers and rituals in the serene shrine room, gaining a deeper understanding of these practices. A highlight of the day was dressing up in traditional clothing and enjoying a delicious vegetarian lunch lovingly prepared by the temple community.
MP Visit
The MP, Dan Tomlinson, visited us yesterday. He has been liaising with us and the police as a result of the recent vandalism. He has given assurances that the matter is being taken extremely seriously at all levels.
Get ready for the Fun Run 2025 next Friday, June 13th!

All funds raised will be split equally between both causes.

Reading Corner
This week we read the last of our books for the Yoto Carnegie Awards – ‘Flying high’.
Here are some of the pupil’s views:
“I liked the fact that the pictures were not complicated. They were simple which made them easier to understand.”
“I liked how the story described the boy’s feelings and the bird was always beside him.”
“I liked the way the boy never gave up and did not let other opinions put him down.”
“I liked how friendships improved in the story and how his grandparents helped him to build a kite. The endpapers were interesting because they show how to make a kite.”
Each class then voted on their favourite text.
Here are our results:
It is very clear to see that the pupils of Brunswick Park believe that the Carnegie Medal for Illustration should go to . . .
We are looking forward to finding out which book is the nation’s favourite.
Oracy Week
Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
“Would you rather” questions are a fun and engaging way to encourage critical thinking and imagination. This week’s questions for discussion are . . .
Would you rather travel to the past to meet the dinosaurs or travel to the future and go flying with a jet pack?
Would you rather a day at the beach or a day in the snow?
