We have had another great week at Brunswick Park!
Year 4 have been on their residential trip over the past few days and have been having a fantastic time! We cannot wait to hear all about their exciting trip next week.
The 80th anniversary of VE Day was marked on 8 May 2025 – signalling eight decades since the end of the Second World War in Europe. We held assemblies to commemorate VE Day.
This term, Year 5 are exploring the fascinating life cycle of insects, focusing on metamorphosis. They are learning how insects like butterflies undergo dramatic changes through the stages of egg, larva, pupa, and adult. As part of this hands-on science unit, they have raised caterpillars in class and observed their transformation into butterflies. The highlight of the project was the joyful moment when they released the butterflies into the park, witnessing the final stage of the life cycle first hand. It was a magical experience that brought science to life
RS class had a fun-packed afternoon of Forest School. They visited the woodland in Brunswick Park where they took part in different activities, including a woodland hunt, making a squirrel some snacks and swinging in a hammock. In addition, they learnt how to make pigment prints by placing flowers and leaves on fabric, and gently banging them with a hammer.

Reading Corner
This week in assembly we have enjoyed and discussed ‘Letters in Charcoal’.
Here are some of the pupil’s views:
“I noticed that there were origami boats on throughout the story on different pages.”
“I liked the fact that the girl learnt to read and then helped others to learn.”
“I liked the bond between the sisters.”
“I liked it when she received her first book and she read it to the village.”
Here are this month’s recommendations from BooksforTopics.
Detailed book reviews are on their website.
