Welcome back to the summer term! The children have returned to school with beaming smiles and lots of enthusiasm.
This half term, our school value is 'kindness.' We will be exploring this value within assemblies and PSHE sessions.
During the half term, we will be thinking about acts of kindness that we can carry out each day. Please discuss these with your children and encourage them to demonstrate kindness in and outside of school.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Year 4 had a fantastic afternoon visiting the Barnet FC grounds this week. During their visit, they met the club mascot, had a tour of the grounds and were able to have a Q and A with one of the players. The children then had their own training session with two members of Barnet's training team which allowed them to learn and develop various skills through games and mini matches.
St Andrew’s School paid a special visit from Bowmer and Kirkland to talk to Year 5 students about future career prospects in engineering.
The session introduced pupils to a wide range of job opportunities, sparking curiosity and excitement about the world of work. As part of the activity, pupils also got creative by designing and building their own dream schools using straws.

Book Corner
All Year 5 and Year 6 participants of our ‘Young Book Prize’ Reading Group received certificates this week from the Royal Society as a form of thanks for participating in this year’s event.
We are proud to announce that our favourite text ‘Can You Get Rainbows in Space?’ was judged the national favourite by over 19,000 young people who participated across England, Wales, Scotland, and Ireland.
This summer term we will be taking part in ‘The Carnegies’ – the UK’s longest-running book awards for children and young people.
As a school, we will be shadowing the Carnegie Medal for Illustration.
This year’s shortlist includes a bold range of artistic styles, from traditional Chinese paper cutting to earthy watercolours, from simple pencil drawings to colourful collage, conveying story to readers in a way that words alone cannot.
We are looking forward to sharing and discussing these texts and hearing everyone’s view.
Watch this space to find out whom Brunswick Park decides to be the most worthy winner of the Carnegie award!
Here are this month’s recommendations from BooksforTopics.
