News from the Park

Parent Newsletter 26 19.4.2024

Welcome back to the summer term! The children have returned to school with beaming smiles and lots of enthusiasm.

This half term, our school value is 'kindness.' We will be exploring this value within assemblies and PSHE sessions.

During the half term, we will be thinking about acts of kindness that we can carry out each day. Please discuss these with your children and encourage them to demonstrate kindness in and outside of school.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Reading Corner

Cook for Books

Well done to Year 1 for raising a whopping £245 at their cake sale the last  Friday of the term.   Thank you to everyone who donated or bought cakes.  The money raised will make such a difference to their class libraries.

Young Editors Club

Congratulations to the following children in Year 3, who have completed our first ever Young Editors Club:

Grace                  Omar

Ryo                         Ryan

Finn                 Rayce

Shay                    David

Elliot                 Kelvin

The enthusiasm and commitment they showed in reading the manuscripts and suggesting thoughtful and imaginative edits to the texts has been amazing.

We look forward to running the club again this term, with Year 4.

New Books

Thank you so much to Mrs Jacqueline Harris who has won a large book collection from the author and illustrator Clara Vulliamy.  We are very grateful for the donation and know the children will enjoy them.
