Year 3 enjoyed a workshop introducing their history project on the Anglo-Saxons.
Everyone enjoyed learning new facts about their settlements, beliefs and culture and had great fun taking part in the re-enactment of the story ‘Beowulf’.
Thank you to the PTA who funded this experience for Year 3.
Some Brunswick Park Children had a wonderful opportunity this week to attend a creative workshop led by deaf author and poet Raymond Antrobus.
They thoroughly enjoyed exploring literature and poetry alongside other deaf and hard of hearing students from across Barnet.
The experience was both inspiring and empowering. It was a fantastic day that clearly sparked even more creativity and confidence in the children! Well done everyone.

Barnet Libraries would like to invite pupils and parents/carers to attend their Libraries Festival to meet award winning authors Steven Butler and Joshua Seigal. They will be talking about their books with lots of fun and games and a poetry open mic session!

Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
‘Use All the Words’ is a game to enhance vocabulary, creativity and verbal communication by challenging children to use specific words to enhance describe a topic within a pair or group setting.
Why not look through the following two topic lists and see if you and your child/children can use the assigned words meaningfully in a description of the topic.
Allow time for your child/children to think and plan before speaking, or make it spontaneous for a quick-thinking challenge.
You can add an extra challenge by adding a time limit to increase the difficulty.
Reading Corner
We have had a great week celebrating reading at Brunswick Park. The week started with Miss Jordan and Miss Murray acting out the story ‘The Little Red Hen’. Many laughs were had whilst listening to this humorous story. We’ve had daily quizzes, reading book swaps, a classic book scavenger hunt in the library and reading buddies, where everyone went to read with another pupil in the school. Thank you to everyone who came into school dressed as a classic story character – there were some amazing costumes.
Next week, we are looking forward to dance and drama workshops delivered by West End In Schools on the classic ‘Pinocchio’.
A massive thank you to the PTA for funding this experience for all pupils at Brunswick Park.
Our Book Fair starts on Monday 9th March and runs through to Thursday 12th March.
It will take place from 3.15pm under the shelter in the main playground.
This is a great opportunity to restock your own shelves with the books you enjoy, but also those of the school library. Every book that is purchased from the fair earns us credit to exchange for books for our school.
You can pay by cash or card on the day and there are books suitable for children from Nursery to Year 6.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
World Book Day
To celebrate book week and pleasure for reading, all pupils at Brunswick Park will come home with a World Book Day title.
These can be enjoyed independently or be a shared read snuggled on the sofa.
Happy Reading!
🌙 Thank You – Ramadan Iftar Evening 🌙
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our Ramadan Iftar Dinner. It was a truly special evening filled with warmth, community spirit, and togetherness.
It was wonderful to welcome parents, children, and families from all backgrounds and celebrate the values of kindness, gratitude, and connection.
A big thank you as well to everyone who helped organise, support, and contribute to the evening — we couldn’t have done it without you.

🌸 Mother’s Day Secret Room Update 🌸
Thank you so much to everyone who has already donated gifts 💝 We really appreciate your support.
At the moment, donations are quite limited while bookings for the Secret Room are high. As the event relies on donated gifts so every child can choose something special, we may need to review or potentially cancel it if we don’t receive enough items.
If you’re able to donate a small gift for mums or that special person in your life, we would be very grateful. Ideas include: chocolates or sweets (nut free), candles, hand cream/toiletries, small plants, mugs, or anything a mum or special person might enjoy 🎁
Please drop donations during the morning drop-off in the covered area by the studio.

We are also looking for volunteers to help wrap gifts on the day. Any time you can spare would really help make the event run smoothly. Please let your Class Rep know if you're available to help.
Thank you again for helping us make this special for the children ❤️
