Year 3 had a fabulous time at the Natural History Museum at the end of Spring 1.
All pupils left the museum with their accredited Diploma in Earthquakes and Volcanoes.
They enjoyed investigating the Volcanoes and Earthquakes display, along with their workshop, where everyone demonstrated their new knowledge on natural disasters.
Year 5 had a great time on our trip to Tower Bridge. We learnt about the history of the River Thames and used our programming skills to build a moving bridge on scratch.
Parent Consultations
Parent Consultations will be taking place on the 24th and 25th March.

We know you are likely to have concerns and questions about what this may mean for your children and we are therefore delighted to let you know that we are running an online Q&A session next Thursday 5th March from 6-7.30pm at which Kim Miller, Head of SEND and Inclusion in Barnet, will explain what we know so far.
Please note that much of the detail is yet to be released so it may not be possible to answer detailed questions at this stage. We will however run more sessions as more information comes to light.
There is no need to pre-register for the session. The link to join is below.
We hope you can join us for this very important session.

Free Child Car Seat Safety Checks – Friday 6 March
Barnet Council is once again offering free child car seat safety checks to help ensure children are travelling safely on our roads.
Two trained experts from Good Egg Safety will be on site at Brent Cross Hendon Way Superstore (NW2 1LZ) on 6 March, between 10am and 3pm, to carry out checks, correct any fitting issues and answer any questions.
Your child doesn’t need to be with you for the check, although advisors can also ensure they are seated correctly if they are present.
No booking required. If you’d like to check waiting times before you travel, you can call us on the day: 07483 474617.
Regular checks make a real difference. Last year, most seats inspected in Barnet had at least one error, many of them simple to fix but potentially dangerous in a collision. This opportunity is an easy way to gain peace of mind and help keep Barnet’s roads safe for everyone.

Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
‘Use All the Words’ is a game to enhance vocabulary, creativity and verbal communication by challenging children to use specific words to enhance describe a topic within a pair or group setting.
Why not look through the following two topic lists and see if you and your child/children can use the assigned words meaningfully in a description of the topic.
Allow time for your child/children to think and plan before speaking, or make it spontaneous for a quick-thinking challenge.
You can add an extra challenge by adding a time limit to increase the difficulty.
World Book Day
To celebrate World Book Day we will be celebrating with a ‘Character Dress Up Day’ on Friday 6th March.
All pupils are welcome to come to school dressed as a character from a children’s classic story, such as Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Paddington, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast etc. Costumes can be very simple and we love homemade creations. Please no superhero or football kits. Ensure that your child/children are warm for break, lunchtime or their PE lesson, if this falls on a Friday.
COMPETITION TIME!
We have five £5 vouchers to give away as a prize for the Book Fair.
Over half term, think about why reading is important to you.
Using between 30 to 50 words, write a short message to the children of Brunswick Park explaining the importance of reading.
Entries to be handed to Miss Jordan by Wednesday 4th March ready for judging.
Enjoy being creative, use your words wisely and good luck!
