Happy Half Term
As we come to the end of another busy and successful half term at Brunswick Park, I would like to take this opportunity to reflect on and celebrate all that has been achieved.
The children have approached every aspect of their learning with enthusiasm, curiosity, and determination. It has been wonderful to see their positive attitudes and engagement across all subjects and activities, and they should be extremely proud of the effort they continue to show each day.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our parents and carers for your ongoing support and the strong partnership you share with us. Your encouragement at home and your continued involvement play a vital role in helping our children thrive both academically and personally.
Finally, I would like to thank our whole staff team for their commitment, creativity, and hard work. Their careful planning and delivery of exciting and stimulating learning experiences ensure that every child is supported and challenged to achieve as highly as they can in all areas of their learning.
I wish everyone a restful and enjoyable break and look forward to welcoming the children back refreshed and ready for the next half term.

Year 6 clothes swap
Today Year 6 participated in the clothes swap as part of their Fast Fashion Geography unit. Each child brought in a piece of clothing and it was given to a loving new home.
Healthy Schools Award
In order to support the health and wellbeing of every child at Brunswick park, we have been working hard to gain a Healthy Schools Award and I am pleased to say that we are very nearly there. In light of this I would like to remind parents and carers that if children bring their own snacks for break time, they should be healthy – i.e. fruit or a healthy bar of some sort. We will also be looking into what is sold at tuck shop on Tuesdays and working hard to ensure these treats as healthy as possible.
In order to fully support this initiative and reduce the amount of refined sugar we share at school, we would like to ask families to limit the birthday treats, which children often kindly give to their friends, to home made cakes or cookies or fruits based snacks.

If you would like to register your child for music lessons, please follow the link below to enrol..
https://beatrust.org.uk/learn-to-play/school-based-tuition/
Once enrolled, students will be placed on a waiting list. Please be aware that places are only offered when vacancies arise, and new admissions generally take place in time for the beginning of each term.
Reading Corner
To celebrate World Book Day we will be celebrating with a ‘Character Dress Up Day’ on Friday 6th March.
All pupils are welcome to come to school dressed as a character from a children’s classic story, such as Peter Pan, Winnie the Pooh, Paddington, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast etc. Costumes can be very simple and we love homemade creations. Please no superhero or football kits. Ensure that your child/children are warm for break, lunchtime or their PE lesson, if this falls on a Friday.
Our Book Fair starts on Monday 9th March and runs through to Thursday 12th March.
It will take place from 3.15pm under the shelter in the main playground.
This is a great opportunity to restock your own shelves with the books you enjoy, but also those of the school library. Every book that is purchased from the fair earns us credit to exchange for books for our school.
You can pay by cash or card on the day and there are books suitable for children from Nursery to Year 6.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
COMPETITION TIME!
We have five £5 vouchers to give away as a prize for the Book Fair.
Over half term, think about why reading is important to you.
Using between 30 to 50 words, write a short message to the children of Brunswick Park explaining the importance of reading.
Entries to be handed to Miss Jordan by Wednesday 4th March ready for judging.
Enjoy being creative, use your words wisely and good luck!
World Book Day
Word Book Day is approaching fast and we at Brunswick Park are busy making arrangements for a fun-packed week.
All pupils should have come home today with their £1 book voucher. These are valid from Thursday 12th February – 15th March 2026.
These can be exchanged for a free World Book Day title or a £1 off a book or audiobook costing £2.99 or more at participating booksellers.
Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
The popular household game ‘Guess Who’ is great for developing oracy because it requires players to use descriptive language, formulate precise questions, and engage in active listening to win the game.
