It has been another busy and positive week at Brunswick Park, and we are very proud of how hard the children have been working. We were excited to introduce our new value of determination, which we will be exploring throughout this half term. So far this year we have focused on friendship and kindness, and it has been wonderful to see these values shining through in classrooms and on the playground. We would love to see the children continue to show how important these values are while also thinking about how determination can help them grow and succeed. As we look ahead to the new year, we are excited about all the learning and opportunities to come and are confident it will be a really positive time for our whole school community. Wishing all our families a lovely weekend.
Reading Corner
Twelve pupils from across Year 5 and Year 6 are meeting this term to help judge the ultimate winner of this year’s Royal Society Young People’s Book Prize.
Each week our panel explores one of the books on the shortlist and prepare to discuss their thoughts.
Our panel carefully consider the look and feel of the book, its interest and inspiration factor and the ease of reading.
We had a very in-depth discussion this week and I am already looking forward to hearing their views next week.
Here are this month’s recommendations from BooksforTopics.
Detailed book reviews are on their website.

Why not try to find these books in a local Barnet Library or local bookshop!
Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
"Sticky questions" are thought-provoking, philosophical puzzles to spark deep discussion between children and their parents. These questions are designed to be "sticky" because they lack a single right answer and linger in the mind, prompting ongoing debate and critical thinking.

Unwanted Christmas Decorations & Gifts
Hopefully many of you have received fantastic gifts over the holiday from friends and family that are not quite your thing or a double of something you already have.
Fear not, the PTA can take those off your hands. You can bring in open unused/ unwanted gifts (suitable for adults or children) which we will store until next fair.
Christmas decoration is also welcome.
Please do not donate anything perishable.
