We can hardly believe it is almost the end of term and Christmas is definitely in the air at Brunswick Park.
The Reception Christmas Concert was absolutely fantastic on Wednesday, as was Nursery's Winter Production this afternoon. Year 5 held their annual Carol Concert in St Mary's Church on Wednesday evening. Well done to all the children involved. You were fantastic.
We are looking forward to seeing you all the the Christmas Fair tonight. The PTA have worked extremely hard and as always we are immensely appreciative of them and all the wonderful volunteers. Let the festivities begin!
This week Year 6 participated in the Primary Maths Challenge. They worked methodically through problem solving questions and really impressed us with their resilience and hard work.
A massive well done to the whole of Year 6 for participating with such a positive attitude.
Well done to these children who achieved the Gold, Silver and Bronze award!

Year 3 had a famous visit to the British Museum yesterday where they went to study the Ancient Egyptians.

Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
Which is the odd one out?
Look at the pictures.
Choose which one you think is the odd one out.
Then, explain why you think this using the word ‘because’.
There are no right or wrong answers, but remember to justify your response.
Reading Corner
Supporting your child to read is the single most important thing you can do to assist in their schooling!
Three is the magic number!
Help your child to practise the phonics they have been learning in school and develop reading with their ELS reading books, which are closely matched to the graphemes they are learning in school. Read their ‘bring home book’ with them three times a week as shown below.
t is still important to listen to your child read once they begin chapter books!
Listening to your child read and questioning what they have read can support their understanding of plot, vocabulary and characterisation.
Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 reading question prompts can be found on our school website, along with recommended book lists.

Indoor Athletics
Last week, 20 enthusiastic Year 5/6 students travelled to Copthall to take part in the Indoor Athletics Championships. Excitement was high as the event began with a series of field activities, giving pupils the chance to showcase their skills in a variety of jumping and throwing challenges. From precision throws to powerful jumps, our athletes approached every event with determination and confidence.
In the afternoon, the energy in the arena shifted up a gear as the running events got underway. The children took part in several relays, including obstacle, long-distance, and team-spirit races, each one bringing loud cheers and plenty of smiles. The competitive spirit really shone through when our pupils faced federation rivals Church Hill, creating some thrilling head-to-head moments.
It was a fantastic day from start to finish. Every member of the team put in an amazing effort, supported one another, and demonstrated a brilliant attitude throughout. We are incredibly proud of their sportsmanship, teamwork, and resilience. Well done to all involved—you represented our school wonderfully!
