On Monday everyone wore odd socks to kick off our Anti Bulling Week. The socks were worn as a symbol of difference and acceptance. There were various activities and assemblies through the week, all to provide key messages about speaking out against bullying.
Today, Miss Heath held a fantastic Bear Pong event in support of Children in Need. The satff and children had a brilliant day raising money for this amazing charity. Thank you for all your support.
Morning drop-off
We would like to remind parents and carers that only certain children should be entering the school through the side gate at 8:30 a.m. These are:
Children attending morning booster sessions in classrooms
Siblings of those children (who will be going to Breakfast Club free of charge)
Nursery children
All other pupils should arrive at the usual time. Recently, there have been a few instances where children have been in the playground unattended before the start of the school day. This presents a safeguarding concern, as staff are not available to supervise until official start times.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us keep all children safe.
Illness
As we head into the winter season, we kindly ask that families keep children at home if they have a fever that does not reduce with Calpol, an upset stomach, or severe nausea. If your child presents with any of these symptoms in the morning, please keep them at home until they are fully recovered. This helps prevent the spread of illness and keeps our whole school community healthy and safe.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Year 6 RAF trip
This week, Year 6 went to the RAF museum as part of their WW2 project. They looked at different planes and participated in a workshop. The children dressed in real RAF uniform and learnt what the different badges meant. They also heard an air raid siren and learnt what to do in London during the Blitz.
6F Michael Rosen Day
6F participated in an online poetry workshop with the famous poet Michael Rosen. They had so much fun playing with words all about food (which made them very hungry)! He read funny poems about food and the children had fun writing their own:

Free Child Car Seat Checks
Friday 21st November, 10am – 3pm
Asda Colindale car park
off Capitol Way, Edgware Rd, London NW9 0AS
Barnet Council is offering free child car seat safety checks to ensure children are travelling safely. A trained expert from Good Egg Safety will be available to inspect seats, fix errors and provide advice, no booking required.
A check can be made on your child car seat even if your child isn’t with you — but if they are, we can also check they are seated correctly and safely.
Last year, 92% of seats checked in Barnet had errors, many serious enough to endanger children in the event of a collision. Unfortunately, errors on seats are very easily made, but the great news is that they tend to be easy to fix.
Don’t miss this opportunity to get peace of mind and help make Barnet’s roads safer for everyone.

Chatter Matters
IT’S GOOD TO TALK!
“Would you rather” questions are a fun and engaging way to encourage critical thinking and imagination. This week’s questions for discussion are . . .
Would you rather be lost in the jungle or in the desert?
Would you rather see the future or change the past?
Would you rather have no electricity or no running water?
Would you rather have 1 wish granted today or 3 wishes granted 5 years from now?
Reading Corner
Congratulations to everyone who took part in our competition.
I hope you enjoyed being creative and our five winners enjoy purchasing their new book.
All entries are currently being celebrated in the library.
Our Book Fair starts on Monday 17th November and runs through to Thursday 20th November.
It will take place from 3.15pm under the shelter in the main playground.
This is a great opportunity to do some early Christmas shopping whilst also supporting your school.
Every book that is purchased from the fair earns us credit to exchange for books for our library.
You can pay by cash or card on the day and there are books suitable for children from Nursery to Year 6.
Looking forward to seeing everyone!
