Welcome to my website. I am an Assistant Professor of Applied Economics at the Gran Sasso Science Institute (GSSI) Department of Social Sciences. I hold a Ph.D. from GSSI and my past appointments include the London School of Economics.
I investigate behaviours that are red flags for social cohesion, including gender violence, school violence, hate and crimes.
Beyond violence, I also spatially investigate deprivation among vulnerable groups such as ethnic minorities, people with disabilities, women, and homeless people.
My research focuses on micro-regional analysis with quasi-experimental methods, leveraging Big Data and unconventional data sources to study behaviours that cannot be captured through administrative records.
My research maintains a strong policy focus. I have served as Principal Investigator for European Commission Joint Research Center projects on cities and vulnerable groups, was project investigator in other projects funded by the European Union and national governments and acted as expert in gender-based violence for the UK House of Commons Women and Equalities Committee.
