Call and Response Songs - these are songs in which you echo a leader.
Many African songs are call and response .
The song below comes from Ghana. You can use sticks, a drum, a shaker or even a piano to sing and play along.
What if you don't have these things?
Use 2 pencils, or 2 spoons for sticks. Use a plastic bowl for a drum. Use an old container with gravel inside for a shaker, BUT ask a grown up first!

Sing a Sea Shanty
A sea shanty was a song sung on sailing ships when the sailors were working. The rhythm of the music helped them to work together as they pulled on large ropes, or the big sails.
Shanties were learned from the other sailors, so there are many different versions of the songs. The one below is called "Haul Away Joe".
Here is a version you can sing along with.
People sing sea shanties today for fun. They even dance to them.
