It is hard to believe that November is already over! We used this month to drive right into our letter and number routines. For letters each day we learn an action and song to go along with the letter. Students also learn their mouth formation for making each letter. Having a solid understanding of the letter sounds is my key goal in Kindergarten. Each day we do a variety of activities to practice. Before the break we will focus on the letters S, M, A, P, T, I, N and F. Even with only 8 letters we have been learning that we can read and spell words as well. Take a look at a few of our letter activities.

In Math, I don't seem to have many pictures but we have been learning one number a day and all the ways we can represent the numbers. We have been practicing number printing, using circles and representing numbers in a 10's frame and doing lots of activities with dice and dominos. We have also been doing some work with number words, base 10 blocks and tally marks!

We have been spending alot more time in the gym this month with the cold weather, but sometimes gym in Kindergarten is us playing outside in the snow!
After a few questions this week from parents I realize I haven't introduced all the people that work in our room each day. You know me well because of all the emails I send, but in the middle is Mrs. Miranda Thorsen and on the far side is Ms. Shannon O'Boyle, or as the kids call her Mrs. O. Mrs Thorsen and Mrs. O are both full time Educational Assistants in our room.
