The new curriculum has a focus on foundational literacy and numeracy skills, and wellness. Students will attend music classes with our school's music specialist. Technology skills are integrated into our core subject areas.
Students will be immersed in a variety of literary texts: picture books, chapter books, non-fiction, poems, and digital formats (Text Forms and Structures). As well, the *new* language arts program includes:

Students will be taught in whole-class and small-groups, each according to their level so that their learning is personalized and differentiated.

The new science curriculum outcomes allow us to explore many our old favourite science topics like studying seasonal change and doing animal research. We will also be coding and doing lots of fun science experiments this year!
