Our school year has gotten off to a wonderful start! September is a big month for kindergarten, with many of our students separating from their families and coming into the school environment for the first time!

First Day of School
First Day of School
The first day of school was very exciting. I was so proud of how brave our student's were! We made crowns to show how royal we are after reading the cute book, The King of Kindergarten!

Pete's Pizzas!
Pete's Pizzas!
Pete the Cat books are probably my favourite children books of all time. We read a lot of Pete books this fall, with the classic, Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes, being the top of the list! After reading this story, we enjoyed following directions while recalling parts of the story to build our very own "Pete's Pizzas!"

Rainbow Tables
Rainbow Tables
In K3 we spend chunks of time rotating through different table centers. These centers change and can be literacy, numeracy, or fine motor focused! The students wear colourful lanyards to help them know which station they are working at and to support their understanding when it is time to rotate between the stations.

Movement Time!
Movement Time!
We love taking the time to develop our gross motor skills! Sometimes this is in the gym and sometimes it is by playing outside at the park. Giving children time to run, jump, climb, and explore is so important for their gross motor development.

I was proud of how well our students did at staying together and following the group plan during our Terry Fox walk. Thanks again to our wonderful parent volunteers who walked with us!
