The Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Club at GSFC University is a proactive platform promoting disaster awareness, preparedness, and resilience among students and faculty. In addition to students from the Fire & EHS Department, the club has engaged students from all other departments, including MBA, CSE, and Chemical Engg., who take on lead roles in initiatives and events. Aligned with the Prime Minister’s 10-Point Agenda on DRR (Agenda 6), the NIDM’s IUIN–DRR network, and the UGC directive (D.O. No. 15-19/2025), the club advances its vision through expert talks, hands-on training, and awareness activities that build a safe, sustainable, and resilient campus community.
Objectives:
Promote a culture of disaster preparedness and resilience on campus.
Conduct hands-on training and awareness programs including drills, First Aid, and CPR.
Engage students in community outreach and sustainability initiatives related to disaster management.
Develop leadership, teamwork, and volunteerism through active participation in DRR activities.
Collaborate with authorities and ensure campus safety through risk assessments and infrastructure preparedness.

Introductory Session – Insights from Leadership
The DRR Club at GSFC University kicked off its journey with an engaging Introductory Session led by the Head of Department-FEHS, Faculty Coordinator, and the Student Vice-President of the club. The session introduced students to the vision, mission, and objectives of the club, emphasizing the importance of disaster preparedness, resilience, and community engagement. Through interactive discussions, participants learned about upcoming initiatives, training programs, and opportunities for active involvement. The session inspired students to take ownership of safety and resilience on campus, setting the tone for an enthusiastic and committed club community.
Inauguration & Expert Session, 13th, Oct 2025
The Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Club at GSFC University was officially inaugurated on October 13, 2025, coinciding with the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR 2025), celebrated under the motto “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters”. The event marked the beginning of a new chapter in campus resilience initiatives and featured an expert session on disaster management, providing students with insights into risk assessment, preparedness, and community engagement. Students actively participated, learning hands-on techniques and strategies to respond effectively to emergencies. The inauguration inspired a culture of safety, leadership, and proactive participation among the university community.
