Your time volunteering as a Trail Ambassador will help promote continued stewardship, instill thoughtful education, and deepen the visitor’s connection to the landscape, all while basking in Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument’s beauty. 

Want to be a Trail Ambassador? 

• Do you live around the area and/or frequent Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument? 

• Can you commit at least 20 hours over the course of a year?

• Do you like hiking the trails and talking to visitors from all over the world? 

• Do you like teaching others on how to leave no trace, giving trail advice and answering questions? 

If you said yes to these, Join our Trail Ambassador program to help maintain trails and share the wonders of the Monument with visitors!

Our Trail Ambassadors will  set up a table at busy trailheads or rove the trails inside Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument! To set you up for success we provide online training videos and  an in-person training after we receive your application.
