Head Coach: Daniel Vander Valk

Coach Vander Valk brings a wealth of baseball experience, both as a player and a coach, with a career spanning over two decades.

Playing Career

A standout athlete at Winslow High School in Winslow, AZ, he was instrumental in securing three region titles from 1999-2001. His exceptional performance earned him all-region and all-state honors during his junior and senior years. He went on to play collegiate baseball at William Penn University in Oskaloosa, IA, where he also earned his degree.

Coaching Journey

His coaching journey began at Coconino High School in Flagstaff, AZ, where he dedicated 13 years to the program. During his tenure, he served as the head JV coach for two years, a varsity assistant for three years, and led eight successful seasons as the head varsity coach.  His leadership was recognized in 2017 when he was named Region Coach of the Year.

In addition to his high school commitments, he also coached for the Peaks Club baseball program, developing talent at the club level. He then spent two seasons as an assistant baseball coach at Westwood High School before taking on his current role as the head baseball coach at Chandler High School, where he is now in his fourth year.

Assistant Coach: Josh Brack

Coach Brack brings a wealth of playing experience and a deep passion for the game to his role as a baseball coach.

Playing Career

A three-year varsity starter at J.E.B. Stuart High School, Coach Brack continued his baseball career at Scottsdale Community College, where he was a key member of the 1997 team that finished third in the NJCAA World Series. He then transferred to Grand Canyon University, where he became a two-year starter for the Antelopes and earned his degree during his time there.

In 2000, he signed a professional contract with the Oakland Athletics and spent two seasons in the organization. He concluded his professional playing career with two additional seasons in independent baseball in Amarillo, Texas.

Coaching Journey

Coach Brack is entering his fourth season with the Chandler Baseball program. Before joining the Wolves, he held coaching positions at Sunnyslope and Mountain Pointe High School. In addition to his high school coaching experience, he has spent over 10 years coaching club baseball throughout the Valley.

JV Coach: Eric Salcedo

Coach Salcedo brings a lifelong passion for baseball to the Chandler High School program, offering experience as both a player and coach. Known for his detail-oriented approach and deep understanding of the game, he continues to help shape and support the program’s development.

Playing Career

A graduate of Arkansas City High School in Kansas, Coach Salcedo was a two-time letterman and helped his varsity team to two regional championships and state championship appearances from 2003-2005. He continued playing beyond high school in various summer collegiate, NBC, and adult league programs across Kansas and Arizona, contributing both on the mound and in the outfield.

Coaching Journey

Now entering his second year at Chandler High School, Coach Salcedo works primarily with the pitching staff, supporting player development at the junior varsity level. While new to the Wolves program, his foundation in the game spans nearly three decades, offering student-athletes a steady presence built on instinct, insight, and experience.
