My name is Beth Ward, and I am a Nationally Certified Athletic Trainer and have held a State License in several states, including now Arizona. I grew up around the country and found my way to Greensboro for undergrad, where I played soccer for 4 years and majored in Athletic Training. I attended West Chester University, where I earned my Master's of Science in Athletic Training. In my 14-year career, I have worked with professional sports, collegiate athletes at the DI - DIII levels, as well as in the secondary setting. Dear Parents/Guardians/Caregivers of Chandler High School student-athletes:
We want to take this opportunity to introduce ourselves as the Athletic Trainers at Chandler High School. As athletic trainers, we are responsible for the prevention, evaluation, care, and treatment of athletic injuries sustained during athletic practices and games at Chandler High School. The following procedures will help us best serve your student-athlete:
Athletes should report injuries to the athletic training staff as soon as possible. The athletic training staff will evaluate and treat all injured athletes. If necessary, any medical diagnosis and prescribed treatment will be made by the athletic trainers as an extension of the Team Physician or by the Team Physician themselves.
If an athlete consults an outside physician, a doctor’s note MUST be provided to the Chandler Athletic Trainers for clearance to return to practice and competition.
If an injury occurs and the athlete has not reported it to us, we encourage you to contact us for advice on the next steps for care.
We will call you:
If a serious injury occurs.
To gain insight into the progress an athlete is making concerning
rehabilitation.
If we feel the athlete needs more advanced medical attention.
Finally, feel free to call us anytime. If in doubt, check it out!
Thank you for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Beth Ward, MS LAT ATC
