Soltown

Soltown is a competitive A Cappella ensemble from Germantown Wisconsin.  

A little nerding out about our name:

SolTown: Noun.

1. Germantown Wisconsin is a small village North of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, commonly referred to as "GTown"

2. When using the fixed-do system of sightreading, "G" is given the solfeggio syllable "Sol" (a needle puling thread)

3. The result is that GTown = SolTown

Our Motto:  "Always Dominant" is a not a boastful statement, but rather a comment on the fact that in music theory, "Sol" is the 5th scale degree which is given the name "Dominant" based on the hierarchy of pitches in the Ionic Mode.
