All GSCS students are expected to complete at least one Pathway (Fine Arts, Foreign Language, Advanced Academic, or CTAE) by graduation.  Students must earn 3 credits of CTAE/Foreign Language/Fine Arts PLUS 4 additional credits to meet high school Graduation Requirements.

 Foreign Language Pathway 

Two foreign language credits are required for students attending  Georgia public colleges and most colleges throughout the US.   Three foreign language courses are required for Foreign Language Pathway Completion. 


Advanced Academic Pathways

To be an Advanced Academic Pathway completer in this area, a student MUST complete at least 3 courses in a given subject area and 1 AP or Dual Enrollment course in the same subject area.  Students must also complete 2 years of the same foreign language.  

Additional Electives 

PE- All students are required to take one semester of PE and Health.  Most students will complete this requirement in 9th grade.

Griffin Region College & Career Academy CTAE & Academic Pathways

The Griffin Region College & Career Academy, GRCCA, is an educational organization that offers both Dual Enrollment Academic and Career & Technical Education Courses.

Our Dual Enrollment Academic classes are offered through our post-secondary college partners, Gordon State College & Southern Crescent Technical College. Students can join a predetermined cohort to insure 24-30 hours of college credit or take a customized path by selecting specific courses that the student desires.

Our Career & Technical Education classes are offered through our post-secondary college partner, Southern Crescent Technical College, and Traditional High School classes. All pathways lead to Business & Industry recognized credential.  And Southern Crescent Technical College courses earn college credit.

Students from the Griffin-Spalding County, Butts County and Pike County School Districts can enroll at the Griffin Region College & Career Academy.
